Santa Fe Botanical Garden on Museum Hill

This 14-acre garden contains natural meadows, a cactus field, indigenous plants and an orchard. Two shows per year along a designated art trail are planned for the Santa Fe Botanical Garden as well as GLOW--A Winter Lights Event in the Garden in December and January.
 

The Institute of American Indian Arts

The Institute of American Indian Arts is both a college and museum cultivating cultural identity through the complex medium of art. The Museum is a showcase for contemporary Native American artists and is housed in a traditional Pueblo Revival style building. Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument

Southwest of Santa Fe, experience a unique landscape of enchantingly conical shaped rocks at Tent Rocks National Monument. Located on the Pajarito Plateau these unusual formations came about from volcanic eruptions. Birdwatching, photography, and hiking are all part of the activities available to visitors.

Palace of the Governors

Step back 400 years to the founding of Santa Fe when you visit the Palace of the Governors, the oldest continuously occupied public building in the United States. In 1999, the adobe building was proclaimed an American Treasure by the government. Free docent tours are available daily.
 

New Mexico History Museum

The newly created state-of-the-art New Mexico History Museum opened on May 23, 2009 and has since won True West Magazine's top Western Museums Award -- # 1 in the Nation. Multimedia interactive exhibits detail the early history of indigenous people, Spanish colonization, the Mexican Period, the world-renowned arts and the coming of the Atomic Age.
 

Santa Fe Opera

The world-renowned Santa Fe Opera entertains and marvels audiences with performances from popular classics to world premieres in the open air amphitheater style building, which has been voted the # 3 best outdoor venue in the country. The 2015 festival season includes: Cold Mountain (world premiere), The Daughter of the Regiment, Salome, Rigoletto, and La Finta Giardiniera.
 

The Railyard

Immerse yourself in the cultural history at the 50-acre Railyard where you used to find neighbors swimming along the acequia watercourse, ice-skating in the winter or locals marveling at the elephants when the circus was in town. Now you find an eclectic mix of restaurants, performance art spaces, shops, contemporary art galleries and an extraordinary farmer's market, all along the historic Santa Fe Depot. Rancho de las Golondrinas

Rancho de la Golondrinas, or Ranch of the Swallows, is a living history museum and a testament to the Spanish and Mexican influence on Santa Fe's history. Established in the 18th century as a stop along El Camion Real, the Rancho includes several restored colonial buildings and historic re-enactors.
 

Puye Cliff Dwellings

This national historic landmark, one of northern New Mexico's most awe-inspiring cultural attractions, is home to the ancestors of today's Santa Clara Pueblo people. Puye Cliffs offers special narrated tours to help enhance your enjoyment and understanding of this spiritual and cultural attraction, featuring cliff and cave dwellings and early Pueblo architecture, home to the Tewa Indian people.
 

Ghost Ranch

The inspiration of Georgia O'Keeffe's art, Ghost Ranch, is a community center offering classes and tours. Ghost Ranch is also the steward of three museums: Ruth Hall Museum of Paleontology, Florence Hawley Ellis Museum of Anthropology, and Piedra Lumbre Education and Visitors Centre.
 

Lensic Theater

This historic 821-seat non-profit venue celebrates its 10th Anniversary as the performing arts center of Santa Fe, where you'll find a variety of entertainment available throughout the year. This beautiful Art Deco building was built in 1931 and has played host to great performers like Judy Garland and Roy Rogers.

Native American Pueblos

New Mexico is home to the fifth largest Native American population and you are truly missing a special experience if you have never visited a pueblo. The song, dance and prayer are not entertainment as the dances are religious ceremonies, not staged performances, and most are tied to seasonal events and rites of passage. It is an honor and privilege for non-Indians to be allowed to view the soulful dances, so please observe all rules and pay quiet attention.
 

Gardens of Santa Fe

There are numerous public and private, traditional and non-traditional gardens resulting from ongoing efforts and the natural four-season environment. The gardens come in all sizes, with botanic diversity ranging from unusual xeric plants to antique bulbs, aspens, cottonwoods and crabapple trees.
